1. What needs to be heard
- Speech only (conference, seminar): speakers and a microphone.
- Speech and background music (opening, corporate): the same set plus a phone or laptop connection.
- Dancing and live music (wedding, concert): more power and planned placement.
2. Space and guests
The bigger the hall or outdoor space, the more speakers and power you need. For a small or medium hall, one pair of speakers is usually enough.
3. Placement
- Put the speakers in front of the stage or speaker, slightly raised.
- Keep the microphone out of the front of the speakers to avoid feedback.
- Aim the speakers just above the guests' heads.
4. Check in advance
Always test the sound before the event: microphone, music and video. It takes a few minutes and saves a lot of trouble during the event.
